Details:
Born Christopher Lomax Flowers, Jr. in Detroit, Michigan, Lomax has performed in various functions throughout the Detroit area. At age 11 he wrote a poem that was entered in an elementary school contest for creative writing that won him a summer scholarship to Marygrove College.
Lomax started singing at the age of five when he wrote his own version of the song "Mocking Bird". He began writing and performing his own song lyrics in front of his seventh grade class when he wrote the song "Bad Health" after the rap group Whodini's "Big Mouth" for a homework assignment he was to do for his Health class. He kept working at his new found craft performing at family reunions and birthday parties. He sung in various school glee clubs as well as for his church choir at Friendly Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit.
In the mid 90's, Lomax was a member of the R&B singing group "Real to Reel" winning numerous talent shows as a backup singer. In 2000, he was an original member of the R&B singing trio "321", which later became the quartet , "Depths Of Soul", signed to 111 Entertainment.(Check out 111 Entertainment's website at www.111entertainment.com ). They performed throughout the Detroit area which includes the Michigan State Fair, the African Music Festival at Hart Plaza in Downtown Detroit, and was asked to perform on a public access show for Comcast Cablevision.
In 2002, Lomax began to work on his first solo effort entitled 'Selfish', which he wrote and co-produced. He teamed up with producers Kyron Burton, Alfred "AJ" Robinson, and Eric "EMc" McCoy to form the production company Vizionary Productions. In 2003, Vizionary Productions plans on starting production of Lomax's second effort, not yet titled. Look for it to be as smooth and satisfying as the first. Until then, embrace 'Selfish' as one of your favorites, guaranteed to keep you coming back for more.
