A group formed by chance in mid 2006 The Lost Ones are unique in style and design. We are an innovative aternative style hip hop group which tries to reach listeners through "real life lyrics". The Lost Ones define themselves as real people just like you, who have to work for a living, and in the meantime chasing a dream of one day reaching millions of listeners who appreciate their music. The Lost ones lyrics reflect their personal thoughts and out look on life as it is in real time, meaning they rap about what they feel and think at the time they write it. What is so different you might ask? Well, for one they are not by any eans rich or famous, so the music is not focused on having load of cash and nice rides etc. They do not have any bling and they do not own a personal jet.
The Lost Ones consists of two real life nine to five people who go by the names of mcdv8 and K-One.Mcdv8 hails from Ventura County California and K-One hails from gila county Arizona. Both artists are heavily influenced by West Coast styles but have a love for the East Coast style as well
There are many influences that have shaped their style an way of rapping. A few of Mcdv8's favorite artists include Michael Jackson, Daft Punk, Xzhibit, Pharcyde, Hieroglyphics KRS One, and DJ Z-Trip. Those are just to name a few.
Mcdv8 started out as a break dancer turned turntablist, turned rapper. Mcdv8 started writing due to the fact he was tired of a lot of the club style music which is currently mainstream music, taking over the radio and sounding the same. All though Mcdv8 loves the club scene and would agree that there is a time and place for this music, he felt there was a lack of true and lyrical music being made anymore. Although in his opinion there are several artists who do remain dedicated to making those types of lyrics and songs.
K-One has many influences also, like 50 Cent, Eminem, Jimi Hendrix, Q Tip, A tribe Called Quest, Talib Kweli and many other artists. K-One started seriously writing rap music when he met Mcdv8 in Arizona. Mcdv8 invited K-Oneto work on some music and ideas with him and he got right into it.
Mcdv8 Joined up with K-One as they shared the same ideas and opinions about rap and hip hop music. The two just clicked and now they have made three albums together and have been featured on several websites and CD's. Their goal together is to get signed to a label and reachmore people with their lyrics and messages.
The Lost Ones are real people, they could be making your french fries, your lawyer, skaters, mechanics, construction workers, Walmart employees, or anyone else. They are real people trying to make it through life and reach their dreams just like you. So enjoy the music and give it a chance, I guarantee that you will find something you can relate to in the music.!
