Lynda began piano lessons when she was only five years old.
Since that time her love for music and songwriting has grown and developed to where she has become a wonderful and talented writer and artist. You can hear this devotion in her music.
One of the things that were most important to her as she grew was the enjoyment she received from singing and playing the piano for her church. That, along with numerous music recitals were tremendous building blocks in her career with music.
Her talent developed quickly and when she was only fifteen years old, her piano teacher started sending her the overload of students that wanted to learn.
Lynda continued to teach piano and voice lessons through out college. She has helped develop skills and bring music into the lives of hundreds of students through the years.
After her graduation from college, Lynda continued teaching privately as well as becoming an instructor at the Glendale Academy. If that wasn't enough, she also taught choir and music theory at the Escondido Academy and the Lancaster Junior Academy.
It was during these many teaching experiences that she discovered a lack of music written in "kid friendly" keys. Often, the music she did find for kids was either too high or too low, too complicated or so simple that it was just plain boring!
"I began to write my own songs for my students. These students were as young as two years old. My older students were around 18 years old. It didn't seem to matter what their age or musical ability was. When the song were lively and fun they would gradually began to sing on tune."
This phenomena was a crucial discovery for Lynda and she found that her students were really finding the fun with music AND, they were gaining real confidence when they were called upon to perform on stage. This was huge and a very positive reaction to Lynda's Songs.
