Being the artist's first attempt at ambient music with a sexual twist, Propinquity is an interesting mix of new age instrumentations and erotic rhythms. The two elements combine to create a unique blending of light and dark moods, subdued yet intense, both passive and aggressive. The music is meant to be an enhancement to the sexual experience and is a great alternative to the often over used Gregorian chants made popular by Enigma and other artists.
Propinquity is a bit darker than the previous album and quite different. There are fewer than the usual number of tracks, but they were purposely made lengthy so as not to interfere with the actions taking place. The entire work plays for about 52 minutes.
The music was inspired by the paintings of renowned artist Sir Nagrom - Morgan Monceaux's series titled A Leatherman's Journal. For more information on Morgan Monceaux and to see sample artwork, please visit http://www.tfaoi.com/aa/3aa/3aa186.htm or http://www.geocities.com/ndc20003/Morgan.html.
