Details:
Once upon a time...or maybe twice, there lived two guys who decided to take their limitations to new limits. Thus, Missing Fingers were born. The result is an interesting mix of indie rock, pop, and a little country music designed to please without taking itself too seriously.

Dave and Rob met in college and quickly became the best of friends. "One of my earliest memories of Dave was hanging out at my house and listening to the White Album from beginning to end, commenting on each song as it played" Rob recalls, " I knew then, at least musically, we were on the same page." The two eventually bought guitars and began doing covers of sixties nuggets for their own amusement. "I think we amused a lot more people than just ourselves" says Dave, "We were pretty bad." After school ended, the guitars were put away and both began their careers in different towns. "Out of the blue, I got the itch to play again so I called Dave and he thought that would be fun too. We both began writing songs long distance over the phone." "The next step was for each of us to buy digital recorders, lay down tracks, and share the files over the internet" Dave says, "It started slow but we eventually had enough songs for our first CD (Taste Like Chicken -released in 2001)."

The CD got some solid reviews on internet sites and the guys really enjoyed the experience. They took a break for a few years recording, but continued to write songs. Eventually, they had enough material to record their second CD, "Time On Our Hands," released in early October 2004. "I like the way it turned out, although there's always things we wish we could change," says Dave, "like maybe having better musicians on it." "Yeah, and maybe a couple of singers as well," Rob adds.

Due to the 400 mile separation between Rob and Dave, getting together for gigs is difficult. "The few times we get together each year sure limits our gig time. The ones we do usually only include our wives and a couple of beers." The band is very realistic about themselves and what can be expected in this industry. "If people listen to our songs and enjoy them, then it's all worthwhile" says Rob.

You may be wondering about the name Missing Fingers. Ok, you're probably not wondering, but just in case. It has nothing to do with missing digits, making fun of anyone or anything like that. It's an inside joke between Dave and Rob that isn't nearly as funny as what you may or may not have been thinking to begin with. But if you do come up with a good one, be sure to send it to the guys. They do love a good laugh.
