Details:
Hello and welcome to my artist page. "Amor" is a collection of 13 solo guitar pieces that reflect what I play live. I play "Amor" at a local mexican resturant called Andale and sell CD's every time. They're performed fingerstyle with no pick. These songs are melodies I grew up listening to. Thanks to my wonderful parents for having great taste in music. "Amor" is just one guitar and no over dubs. Alot of work went into these arrangements. I'm very pleased with the results. This project is very different from my other CD's. When I recorded these songs I composed intros and interludes that fit very well with the original song. After listening to "Amor" you think something is missing from the original arrangements. I really think they fit beautifully. And I didn't change the original timeless melodies. They are there completely. I recorded "Amor" over a three month period. I fine tuned and tweeked it in the next nine months. "Amor" was recorded at my home studio called The Dungeon with sterio mics, a tube pre-amp to a computer with the multi-track program Sonar 2.2 and mastered through Soundtracks Studios. All in Vancouver, Wash. The guitar I used has a story all its own. One of my guitar students was looking for a spanish guitar. I have a friend that had one with a new case so I picked it up and brought it to him to purchase for $125.00. Before he bought it I played it and fell in love with it. So, he bought it and later complained it was too light. Then I had him try my Yamaha spanish guitar (I paid $200.00 for) which was heavier and liked that one much better. Realizing the guitar I fell in love with was a "Ritmo" (means rhythm) made in Spain and is a Flamenco style I asked him to trade. So I traded him the Yamaha for his Ritmo and he kepted the new case. The Ritmo was purchased at a flea market for $60.00. It has become my main performance guitar and I used for the "Amor" CD. Listen to the samples and enjoy the music. I hope you'll purchase "Amor" for years of listening pleasure. Thanks for being here, Michael
