The short version: KaRL BaRX komes from Norway and plays katchy, varied, personal musik. KaRL BaRX kombines the energy from rock with the melodies and harmonies from pop.
The quirky version: If Karl Marx the kommunist and Carl Barks the kartoonist had lived simultaneously and started a band, what would it sound like? Would world or pop history have to be re-written? We haven't the faintest idea. Some bands are tricky to pinpoint in terms of genres or kross-references. KaRL BaRX prefer to be one of those bands.

The biographikal version: KaRL BaRX have been rambling around in the parking lot since their by:Larm participance in 2004 (annual national musik konference in Norway), but the five-piece orkestra is now ready to roll their Volkswagen Karavelle out on the road on a more regularly basis, loaded with amps, yellow stage outfits, strong songs and equal shares of pop and rock, energy and melankoly, dream and reality, ease and unease.

The work on âA Produkt Of Imaginationâ started with the song Produkts Of Imagination back in 2005, so itâs really about time to follow up the akklaimed mini-album âThe Sekret Songs Of KaRL BaRXâ from 2004. Back then the kritix tried to lokate the center of gravity in the wide mix of genres and influences that KaRL BaRX allows into their musik, by using a lot of kross-references - ranging from âthe pop side of Motorpsychoâ (not only fellow Norwegians, they aktually live at the same street in Trondheim, a city of 150.000 inhabitants), via New Pornographers and Stephen Malkmus to Suede and Kinks - some even put Mercury Rev in there. However, they all ended up konkluding that the band most of all sounded like themselves.

Although their musik is varied, most elements in the KaRL BaRX package are very konsistent. Surely this has to do with song kraftsman and band leader Sigurd Brørs making all band graphix, inkluding web, animation and now a video as well. The future encyklopedian version: KaRL BaRX experienced moderate kontemporary suxess, and didnât bekome household names until 2061, when somebody dug up Produkt 61 Revisited, their underestimated sci-fi epik from 2008. The song excellently summarizes early 21st century alternative pop.
