The Mother Freedom sound balances tight vocal harmonies, dirty guitar and organ, funky horn lines, and a big fat bottom end. The New York based five piece band has opened for such artists as Bernie Worrell (P-Funk, Talking Heads), Leo Nocentelli (The Meters), Oteil Burbridge (Allman Brothers), Felicia Collins (David Letterman Show), Gregory Isaacs, and Wolfman Washington, and played at the 1999 Vans Warped Tour. Mother Freedom won the New York Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands in 1999, and were semi-finalists in the 2000 Sennheiser Evolution Band Contest and the 2001 Long Island Music Festival.
Mother Freedom's latest CD, This Is Mother Freedom, was recorded and mixed at Cove City Sound Studios in Glen Cove, NY. The CD has been featured on WBAB 102.3 FM and WLIR 92.7 FM New York, WONY in Oneonta, NY and WVOF 88.5 FM Fairfield, CT.
