Hubert Taschereau writes songs because he has to; the thoughts and feeling he expresses in Autumn Pictureâs music need to escape his brain one way or another- songs become the outlet.

In contrast to the previous albums, Autumn Pictureâs latest release includes more instruments and tackles slightly different subject matter. The album took four years to write, because Hubert was not concerned with finishing an album; he merely wrote about things in his life, money and work issues, relationships, et cetera. The songs are simple and honest, contemplative yet upbeat.

Autumn Picture was officially created in 1999 when Hubert Taschereau began playing shows in his native Montreal, opening for touring rock bands and playing coffee shops and DIY shows. Taschereau was a little shocked at the positive audience reaction when he opened for rock bands as an acoustic act, but he was also encouraged. After a mini-LP and inclusion on a compilation for Dare to Care Records, Taschereau recorded his first full-length Autumn Picture album for Hill Billy Stew Records in 2003.

Autumn Pictureâs Hill Billy Stew debut, entitled Fait Maison, was well received by the press. Punk Planet said it was âdefinitely the modest beginnings of a true troubadour.â According to Skratch Magazine, Taschereauâs âcandor is extremely winning...and the tunes are not half bad, either.â

When heâs not constructing earnest tunes for Autumn Picture, Hubert Taschereau plays in Milanku, a post rock band from Montreal.
