ROCK: Roots Rock, POP: with Live-band Production

Details:
For Molten Blue, the year 2002 was remarkable. Immediately following their Canadian Music Week showcase, the band released their 2nd CD entitled "Vote for Orb". The launch was extremely well planned, including extensive media coverage, a dancing mascot (Orb) and a host of MB-related merchandise. Fans were treated to quite possibly the most entertaining rock shows of the band's career. Recorded by Brad Marshall (Plasticine) and Mixed by Terry Sawchuck (Alanis Morrisette), "Vote for Orb" contains what critics have said resembles 'pop injected rock as if Neil Young were singing in Weezer'.

Local media have been impressed by the bands poignant songs and inviting live performances, to the extent that Molten Blue was named "The Best Band of 2002" by The Record, Kitchener Ontario's daily.

The four members, Fred Magie, Chris Lobsinger, Justin Faragher, and Brian Gould have played over 30 shows in support of "Vote for Orb". A highly motivated group, they have performed in clubs, cafe's, theatres, college radio stations, and television (London's New PL Morning Show, Rogers Cable, and Cable 14.)

In addition to VFO, the band has also released 1999's "Telling Time" which in itself had moderate success at college radio and garnered many spins on internet radio stations.

Molten Blue was chosen as one of the headlining acts at the Spring Music Festival for 2003 and continues to gain momentum through college radio and internet promotion.

The long range forcast for the band includes chief songwriter Fred Magie going back into the studio in hopes of releasing a new CD in 2004.
