Q- Where are you from?
Born and raised in Orlando, Florida.
Q-I would like to start off by asking you why they call you Preacher?
A- Well I got the name from my Pops, because when I was young I lived next door to a church. I was 6 at the time and I use to go downstairs holding on to the hand rail everyday, I remember it like it was yesterday. I use to cross the parking lot into the church ground by myself so that I could attend church. People at the church always use to ask me were my parents were. I told them that they were coming, but they never did. So after some time I became a regular member handing out the programs and singing in the choir. Everyday there was a baptism I got baptized every single day.
Q- So why did you make the song We From Florida?
A- I made the song We From Florida featuring Rick Ross and Jacki O because their from Miami 305 area code and Iâm from 407 Orlando, so it just made sense to make the song for unity, because I feel like Florida should unite as one, and not individual cities. Itâs time for Florida to eat so Florida stand up 407 representer Preacher.
Q- Who did the track for We From Florida?
A- My producer David Breed a.k.a. Trendsetter who also sold two tracks to Bloodline. Heâs making a lot of noise in Orlando, and he did about 13 tracks on my new album that will be coming out in late January called The Preacher. Which Iâm featuring Shyheim from the Wutang and Rick Ross and Jacki O.
Q- Are you signed to a label ?
A- I had a single deal with a label in Germany for a year that did real well, weâre negotiating on an album deal, but I really want to stay in the states. Besides they ainât talking high dollars plus Def Jam, TVT, and Atlantic Records know about me so Iâll just stay independent for now.
Q- What do you have to say to an artist that is just getting in the game?
A- If you want to get in this game, you need to know the business if you donât know what BDS is or ASCAP or getting your music copyrighted your not going to be able to be an artist, because it is 20 being an artist and 80 business, but thatâs my opinion. If you donât want to do the business side of it, then your going to have to get a good manager that is going to handle the business and you be the artist. But the most important thing is always grind and never give up because all dreams are possible.
Q- What do you do besides rap?
I own a very well known tattoo shop in Orlando Florida called His & Herâs Tattoo. Paul Wall got the grill and gold chains on lock and I got them Tattoos on lock. And if youâre in Orlando hit me up at (407) 999-7811 or come to Magic Mall Flea Market.
