Morgan Clamp is writing songs for YOU. "Make no mistakes about it, I'm only interested in making songs that lots of people can feel a bond with" says Clamp. After several years of writing and recording, this young artist has found his voice.
With a CD of catchy songs that have been compared to the likes of Matchbox 20 and U2, Clamp has created a simple recipe for great songs "Keep them relatable, and keep them real. There are enough bands out there singing about nothing."
Born in Toronto, Canada into a British family, Morgan caught onto his love of music at an early age. "My dad was always playing his John Lennon tapes in the car during our long drives and when I would get home my older brother would let me into his room to listen to the records of his favorite artists such as Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty". The music bug had begun to set in.
By the time Morgan was in his teens he began to explore his own talents in music. "When I began to write songs several years back I didn't always understand the importance of song structure. As time went by, I learned to build my songs based on the one key ingredient that I had noticed about all of the artists that I had enjoyed through my life - simplicity!"
Morgan recently packed his bag and guitar case and headed to New York City to begin recording his music. One of those songs called "Days Away" was selected to be on the SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME - New Writers Showcase CD (Volume 2).
In 2005 Morgan released "I NEED YOU / YOU NEED ME." The CD consists of eleven tracks filled with hooks and heart and is sure to connect with music fans.
Morgan Clamp is an artist to keep your eyes on, but even more importantly ... your ears, after all these songs are for YOU.
