Matthew Phillips was born in Southern California in 1973. Like many, it was the music of Van Halen that inspired an interest in the guitar. He started learning the guitar at age 11, and has not put it down since.
His influences include Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, Sting, Jewel, Brad Paisley, Van Halen, Rush, Dream Theater, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and the Dave Matthews Band.
Matthew has performed in many groups including the Gregg Edwards Band, Prymary, the Blues Buzzards, and the Pam Scheller Band. Check out www.mattphillips.net
Never Far From Mind was independently released in July of 2003.
