Mr.Eugene on stage. With electric violin, acoustic/electric guitar and electronic sounds. Expect a wild mixture of crazy Russian or Irish sounding fiddling, head nodding beats and songs including humour, sex, social criticism, love, and alcohol.
You'll hear rock guitar, electronic rhythm, or 'clean' acoustic guitar also being pushed and pulled in various musical directions, as Mr.Eugene mixes international influences (USA, Spain, Ireland, Brighton!) in his lively and accessible performance.

The Return!
People in Devon may remember Mr.Eugene from the past when he played in local bands such as the Pogues-like 'Blunt Instruments', punky 'Under the Gun', or the bizarre 'Drug Squad', as well as flirting with the blue grassy 'Venoms'. Folks may also recognise him as performer/musician with the Common Players and other performance groups.
Since then he has changed his name; now known exclusively as Mr.Eugene and has developed his own unique performance.
In the meantime he toured in Europe whilst based in Berlin and released his debut solo CD The whine of life, then went strumming, fiddling & looking round the USA.
In 2002 he returned to South England where he is now happily based.

Acoustic instruments (for example the violin or guitar) played in a way that Rocks in Groovy arrangements with other Electric instruments and effects; often accompanied on electronics by the German keyboard artist Nickova (from Berlin).
Standard genre description would be Alternative Rock or Folk-Rock (..."actually I prefer Rock-Folk!"...).

written with feeling and thought, performed with passion and skill.
Mr. Eugene has a mature technique that allows freedom and feeling to be set loose, his voice is sometimes dark and warm, sometimes it is more like a wail or even a snarl ...but it always comes from the soul...
