Golpe Justo was born in 1990 by a group of friends from the same neighborhood. Soon enough the band started playing gigs at well known local clubs ( Steps, Longbranch, Shadows and Playmakers, to name a few) and before the first year a recording was made, a 7" 6 song single was released by Computer Crime Records from Connecticut was distributed in the Tri-State area and some other countries like Spain, France, Mexico and locally in Puerto Rico. The second release was a 15 song tape called "Seguimos Adelante" (Keep going Ahead) was released in 1994 by the local label Justo Records, founded by the band's singer Raúl Juliá better known as BB Justo. Their first cd called: "Hecho En Puerto Rico" (Made in Puerto Rico) was released in 1998. It was produced, promoted and distributed by Justo Records. With this cd the band reached places like Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Cuba, Spain, France, Germany, the United States and all over Puerto Rico.

Through the years the band has earned the respect from the local scene as well as bands including; Agnostic Front (who were invited to play at Golpe Justo's 11th birthday), Madball, Merauder, Sub-Zero, Step2Far, Ten Yard Fight, and have shared the stage with bands like Anthrax (october 2003) and DRI (august 2004) . They played the legendary New York club CBGB'S in 1996 with 25TaLife and Hatebreed with whom they shared the stage again in October 2004 in Puerto Rico with Six Feet Under and Ankla.

They have shared the stage with some of the best local hardcore, Ska and punk bands like Perro Enfermo, Abuso de Poder, Tropiezo, Puya, Autoengaño, outbreak hate, La Experiencia de Toñito Cabanillas, Skapulario and Los Naborias among others. They were the closing act for 5 years straight at the local Tattoo Convention (1999-2003) and were the closing act for a local talent festival called: "Ciclo de Rock Nacional" back in 1991.

The band has suffered many mutations, more that 15 members have come and gone from the band, making the singer BB the only original member of the band. The band had members of great value such as Rolando "Ruly" Kuan (bass 1995-2004) who has played in well known bands as Mattador and is one of the founders in ONGO. Jorge "Careta" Castro (guitar 1992-2003) was one of the founders of the band today known as "Nonpoint" and Sekel. Marcela (original bassist 1990-1995) who is now in Alarma.

Golpe Justo are now awaiting the release of: "Revolución en la Evolución" (Evolutive Revolution) a new cd comprised of 25 songs that include a compilation of songs from their first releases plus 10 new songs all recorded by the new lineup. The new cd release is set to be on May 13 when they will start a tour of the island celebrating their 15th anniversary and the cd release.

In 2005 the band is planning a lot of touring including New York, Florida, Mexico, Europe and Colombia.

Golpe Justo has been there for 15 yrs and are planning to "Keep Going Ahead" for 15 more.
