The CD "Not To Us" music is a reflection of the vision and experiences of the Minister of Music Dr. Charles Pender. In addition to Dr. Pender the Cd features a wealth of talented musicians that bring their own unique perspective to the project. Guitarist Tony Smith has toured abroad and was recently featured on the Jay Leno show playing behind noted soul vocalist Al Green. Organist Elder Paul Taylor has also toured abroad several times and recorded with many well known artists. Versatile bassist Winton Meriweather was first bass player of the contemporary gospel choir O'Landa Draper & Associates. His vocal ability is on full display in the title cut from this project. Drummer Kenneth Ayers has the longest tenure of the group and serves as an anchor both rhythmically and spiritually. Bobby Cunningham and Shirley Mosley raise the project to yet another level with their dynamic percussion work. Brenda Rutledge, Deadrick Davis, Jeff Huddleston, Brandon Pitts, Jamal Weeks make up the dynamic horn section. Brenda & Jeff are band directors with Memphis City School system and have extensive professional experience playing for many well known artists in a variety of settings. Deadrick, Brandon and Jamal are all first class trumpet players who tour and perform regularly. Last but certainly not least is the harp playing Mr. Bill Butner's harp provides an exotic contrast to other instruments featured on the recording. Mr Butner is featured regularly on the concerts and recording with The Church of God in Christ.
