The first question she is asked when meeting someone new is always the same: "How do you pronounce your name?" Of course, Xiomy is not a common name, so the question is a good one. It is pronounced "see-OH-me." But her name is not the only thing interesting about her. Xiomy is a 19 year-old girl from Illinois who is beginning to emerge into the Christian music scene. When Xiomy became a Christian at age thirteen, she told God that she wanted to worship Him with music. Since then, God has taken her a long way. Her two passions in life are youth ministry and music, and her goal is to use both together to build a God-driven ministry that reaches today's youth.

During her early high school years, Xiomy competed in several singing competitions. When she went to the regionals in Nashville, Tennessee, for the Christian talent competition Exalting Him! 2005, she realized she should not wait for a record deal to be handed to her. There were many contestants who had already recorded their own independent projects, and she knew she needed to do the same. And God began to open doors. In the summer of 2006, before her senior year of high school, she was introduced to Aza and Jose Arias, brothers and owners of Arias Records in Wisconsin. The journey for Xiomy's first project, Beautiful Release, began.

The album was finally finished in the summer of 2008. When the project first began, Xiomy was still finishing up high school. Because she was very involved in school activities, a lot of recording was not accomplished. When Xiomy started to attend college in the fall of 2007, she began feeling God was showing her school was not the place He wanted her at the moment. God wanted her to focus on the music project that had been pushed aside because of school. Despite of some people telling her otherwise, after her first semester at college, Xiomy took a break from school to focus on her first album, Beautiful Release. The album is made up of twelve original songs, all written by Xiomy, and a few were co-written with her friend, Kaley Houdek. Beautiful Release is a compilation of songs founded in rock and acoustic, born from the soul, which were created in efforts and inspired to fuse life, pain, beauty, and redemption through music. Once the album was finished, she put together a band to play with her at shows. The band is made up of her brother, Roy Gonzalez on the drums, Jonathan Gornick on guitar, Keith French on electric guitar, and Joel Kathan on bass.

Xiomy does not want to be just another face in the crowd of millions trying to "make it" in music. Her desire is for God to use her music to glorify Him, to reach those in need of Him.
