Description:
Honest home made indie pop for the human heart with a twist of weird.
13 MP3 Songs
POP: Quirky, ROCK: 60's Rock
Details:
Recorded in bathrooms, bedrooms, and basements, Murkádee's latest LP features effect-ridden guitars, glockenspiels, drum machines, keyboards, clarinets, saxophones, baritone horns, and even a bass or two. The experimental pop duo is from a gas station heavy farm town in New Hampshire where their unique journal-left-open-for-little-brother-to-read sound is so honest that it breaks hearts in a ten mile radius. Joseph K. Murphy and DeLaine Bennett first met in elementary school, and they didn't like each other from the start. Their friendship blossomed from a mutual respect and a deep fascination with music and sound. It's no wonder Murkádee come from the same area that produced The Shaggs (who actually came to one of their shows). Inspired by everything from the closing of the town's 70 year old country store to the guy you knew who played guitar in his basement, the music shines with true fears, dreams, and desires. DeLaine served you coffee at Dunkin Donuts. Joey is an excavator operator-in-training. Murkádee's self produced LP is new music for the human heart.
"I haven't heard sincerity like this since Neutral Milk Hotel. For the first time in a long time, there is a band that deserves to be heard. I seriously love Murkádee."- John Herman, News Writer for Pitchfork Media
