RENE LOKUA has quickly established himself as one of the leading lights in the African spiritual music community, only after two successful solo album releases, "Destinee," and a controversial song, "Pesa Mono Passage" from the second album with Prince de Paix. "Pesa Mono Passage" was wrongly believed to be a message to Mobutu's government to clear the path for a change in 1997. Mr. Lokua sings in Lingala, French, and in other Congolese languages, following the footsteps of his brother, the internationally acclaimed singer, Lokua Kanza.

Rene Lokua belongs to the warm, inspirational tenor of Congolese Gospel music. A groundbreaking inspirational, Gospel vocalist, writer, and arranger, who has won hearts of many African music lovers. A multi faceted artist, he not only has a successful recording career, but he also is a great father and husband who is involved in a fellowship in his community.

As a member of a musical family, Rene Lokuaâs success is truly a family tradition. Like his brothers, the famous Lokua Kanza and Didi Ekukuan "Shegue Di", Rene plays guitars, percussions and sings. He started out in churches, and perfected his talents by watching his famous brothers, Lokua Kanza & Didi Ekukuan perform throughout the world. He teamed up with his brothers, Didi Ekukuan and Lokua Kanza on Lokua Kanza's album Toyebi Te (Universal) to show the world what family does once united. Before this, Rene Lokua made history with an amazing run of smash hits and great-selling songs in Kinshasa, Congo with his friends, Prince de Paix, the famous Charles Mombaya and Christian All Star musicians. Rene has also recorded songs with Carlito Lassa, and many other entertainers.
