Reviews for "Mother Goose's Never-Ending Tea Party"
From Booklist
9/1/03
PreS-Gr. 1 The word abundant sums up this tea party. This collection of 60 rhymes and songs contains many selections from the Mother Goose Canon as well as recent titles and a few originals, seemingly something for every taste. Some are recited simply, others have a rap, reggae, or rock flavor, and a few are performed twice in contrasting styles. Performers are equally varied, soloists and groups, kids and grown-ups. This collection is notable not only for quantity, but for organization. Songs and rhymes are grouped into a natural progression of such loose themes as wake-up time, shopping, greeting friends, eating, playing, and bedtime. Of course, listeners can come and go as they please. A pleasing, voluminous anthology of time-honored favorites and more.

From School Library Journal
June 2003
PreS-Gr. 2 - This entertaining album organizes 60 nursery rhymes, nursery songs, original songs, and dialogue in 15 sections (or acts) to create a musical skit about planning and presenting a tea party. The adult and child vocalists are all excellent, as is the background instrumental music. Musical styles employed include folk, rock, rap, jazz and gospel. The production begins with wake-up songs and ends with lullabies. Some of the other 15 sections include "Plan-a-Tea Party Tunes," "Writing Invites," "To Market for Tea Party Treats," "Cozy Cottage Party Preparations," "Finally, Friends Arrive," and "Teatime! Eat, Drink, and Be Merry!!" Some of the traditional nursery rhymes or songs include "Short'nin Bread," "Pat-a-Cake," "Pease Porridge Hot," "Five Little Monkeys," "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean," "Old Mother Hubbard," "Simple Simon," "A Tisket a Tasket," "Down by the Station," "Polly Put the Kettle On," "Miss Mary Mack," "Sing a Song of Sixpence," "Old King Cole," "Dance to Your Daddy," and "All the Pretty Little Horses." One particularly cute part is the battling beverages, in which tea claims to be a better beverage than hot cocoa or apple cider, using the traditional "I'm a Little Teapot" song and expanding on it. In addition to being a fine album to circulate to the public, this CD may also be useful to librarians and teachers planning a tea party program.

From Kidzmusic.com
What's good for the goose is also good for the gander and the gosling when listening to the creative and inspired, Mother Goose's Never-Ending Tea Party, the latest outing from Re-Bop Records. Count them: 60 traditional and original songs and rhymes zip past in a world record 60 minutes. The premise is fun and revolves around a dawn-to-dusk tea party with all the usual-suspect nursery-rhyme characters in attendance - must have been a logistical nightmare to orchestrate it all. The concept is winning and the performances are stellar, especially the intimate family moments between parent and child reciting the familiar rhymes. This recording reminds us why nursery rhymes are alive and well hundreds of years after their creation. A beautifully illustrated lyric and rhyme booklet is included. See you at the tea party, by the sea at half-past three?

From Parenting Magazine
October 2003
Throughout this musical tea party, finger games, traditional rhymes, and silly songs are delivered by grown-up voices and a gaggle of babbling babies and tykes. The special treats: Colin McCaffrey's "Wake Up, Baby" and the soul-full "Short'nin' Bread."
