Blending a down-home, hard-boiled, contrified twang, rock-solid blues guitar and a modest, blue collar mindframe. They put out a mobile home and TV Dinner inspired sound that's as fresh as a newly broken heart and as modern as an empty bank account

COUNTRY: Country Blues, ROCK: Roots Rock

Details:
"Blending a clown-home, hard-boiled, countrified twang, rock-solid blues guitar and a modest, blue-collar mind frame is no small task. This all-female trio pulls it off famously. Lead vocalist Donna Owen, guitarist Patti Ambs and drummer Amy Crittenden first honed their sound at Musician's Institute, and have been stompin' the pavement of Sunset and the floorboards of local clubs for a couple of years. They're finally earning their stripes with their new album, A Step Down From Luxury belting out sad sagas of Beverly Hills housewives on the skids and other timely tales of downward mobility. Owen snagged herself a "Best Female Vocalist" at the LA music awards last year. She sometimes lets loose a whiskyish drawl that'll slide right up to you and pull up a chair. The Mystrals put out a mobile-home and TV-dinner inspired sound that's as fresh as a newly broken heart and as modern it's an empty bank account." Sara Scribner - LA Weekly.
