Heartfelt acoustic-centered rock - with a few electric and psychedelic twists thrown in to keep you on your toes.
12 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Folk Rock, POP: Quirky
Details:
Naked April began as the stripped-down, live performance version of the One Week In April group. And, when we began planning the next recording project after Songs Arriving Late, we decided that the most effective and interesting way to proceed would be to write and record the songs with the Naked April group (Kent Rytting, Nick Bennett, Shane Duncan, James Trevino), augmented by others as the need and opportunity arose.
In the four years that we worked on Flower In My Fist, we followed a tradition of holding music retreats once or twice a year; it was during these times that the songs took their largest steps forward. At other times during the year, smaller subsets of the group would meet to refine the arrangements and lay down tracks.
The final result is a roller-coaster ride through the thoughts and beliefs of each songwriter in turn, reflected in the funhouse mirror of the musical twists and turns provided by the other musicians.
