For many years, Andrew Prahlow and Ross Carter had many clever rap hooks and ideas that were never put to use. In the summer of 2007, an idea was proposed to release two songs on the internet under the name Nickelz&Dimez. After generating somewhat of a buzz among friends, Nickelz&Dimez released songs periodically throughout 2007, recording through file sending over the internet. By the end of the year, they had become somewhat popular on each of their respective college campuses, which led to the idea of a full length album.

What started as a fun project turned into a developed concept record that features an array of unique artists. Nickelz&Dimez also added lyricist Paul Edgerley and vocalist Erin Lowry to the permanent lineup in order to achieve a more well rounded sound. During the summer of 2008, Nickelz&Dimez took a more serious and diverse approach towards their music by remixing or fully orchestrating each song and combining a variety of music styles. Their innovative and diverse sound is sure to please both the hip-hop enthusiast as well as the casual listener.
