Saigon Lounge is a Music Project created to bring a new dimension and exotic taste into the local music market, yet also introduce local works out to the global market in international quality. Part of the Project is the Album Series named "Saigon Lounge" ("Sài Gòn ThÆ° Giãn" in Vietnamese) - the name itself stands for the style: music that creates a lounge-atmostphere. The Project is developed and managed by TOUCH Communication.

For the very first time a truly lounge-style Music Series comes up in Vietnam. And for the very first time the Lounges, café-and-other places in Vietnam will have the local music playing instead of international album all the time as before.

Quôc-Bao Chillout is the first album in the series, covering 8 hit songs from Quôc-Bao* - a modern Vietnamese song composer / producer. The songs are re-arranged by Laurent Jaccoux the French Musician who lives in Vietnam for years - and Quôc-Bao himself. Laurent's works are based on smooth electronica and Quôc-Bao's on electro-jazz.

The voice of Nguyet Anh (Nguyá»t Ánh) joins those two styles into a complete and unique composition which can create an exotic but familiar music atmostphere that chills! She turns the once-hit songs into anther dimension devoting audiences a new and relax enjoyment. Yet Local comes to Global!

" ...This is Nguyet Anh, remixed. Itâs her take on lounge music, complete with Miles Davis-style trumpet adornments. To be accurate, itâs Nguyet Anh in the able hands of Vietnamese composer and producer Quoc Bao. Theyâre producing a series of CDs called âSaigon Lounge.â

Remember Saigon?

That was the pre-communist name for Ho Chi Minh City. These days the city has lots of lounges, and now, apparently, locally-made music to be played in them. Itâs Nguyet Anh singing on the first volume of the Saigon Lounge series.

But remixer Quoc Bao sampled her voice judiciously on the recording. On this vaguely latin remix of a Quoc Bao composition, Nguyet Anh shows up for not more than 40 seconds. Here she comes with the first appearance...

The on-line English language ThanhNien News said that Nguyet Anhâs chillout album is not your grandfatherâs elevator music. As for Nguyet Anh, she seems smitten by the chillout genre. âAll singers have their own road to success,â she told ThanhNien News.

âIâve chosen lounge music and I want to be remembered for being the first singer to perform it in Vietnam.â "
