Naked Without My Cello are an all originals duo combining the rich strokes of cello, acoustic guitar, soaring vocals & sweet harmonies. Their lush, evocative songs weave a nomadic path through folk to African, Latin & blues, engaging the listener on a journey across memory, experience & exotic locations.


With the help of an Australia Council grant NWMC are putting the finishing touches on their debut self-titled album. Recent performances have included a guest spot on ABC Radio National's Late Night Live & as support for the acclaimed American folk artist Kristina Olsen.


Being based in Sydney, NWMC perform regularly at various venues such as Club Acoustica, The Sandringham, The Harp Hotel, The Cat & Fiddle, The Excelsior, Bar Broadway, Newtown festival, La bar, & The Orange Pepper Festival.

Miriam Lieberman is the principal songwriter for the group. With a background in Latin music, Jazz, folk & classical guitar, she is both vocalist & guitarist. Much of the inspiration for the songs comes from her wide travels throughout Latin America, India & Nepal.
Also playing as a solo performer, Miriam spent last year living in Salvador, Brazil where she performed with local musicians & fell in love with the juicy chords & cranking rhythms of Brazils North East coast.

Kate Adams, the cellist of the duo recently graduated from a scholarship in post graduate performance with The Australian Institute of Music, after picking up the cello at age five growing up in Darwin.
Over the years Kate has spread her musical wings from quartets & orchestras to musicals, Gamelan groups & punk rock bands. She enjoys collaborating with musicians of different influences & feels inspired by jazz, electronic/psy-trance, ambient, gypsy, classical & folk music. Really anything but pop!
