Details:
Born in Canada in 1998, Nanochrist have released three CDs: "Nanochrist" (1998), "Inataraxia" (1999) and "Corrode" (2001).

With such diverse influences as Rush, Yes, Strapping Young Lad, Fear Factory, Pitchshifter, and Frank Zappa, Nanochrist have developed a sound that is heavy, full of crunchy guitar, machine-gun drumming, synthesizers, and vocals that range from melodic to outright, lung-tearing screams.

"Corrode", the newest CD from Nanochrist, contains more of what the previous two albums offered, while evolving in some new and interesting directions.

While the album does contain a couple of epic-length instumentals, the focus this time is on shorter, more concise songs which are still heavy and often dissonant with plenty of odd time signatures thrown in just to prevent anyone from trying to dance.

Lyrically "Corrode", like the first CD, is based on real-life experiences. But unlike the frustrated, angry tone of that CD, "Corrode" is introspective, with a recurring theme of the knowledge of one's own mortality and how that can, or possibly should, influence one's everyday life.

Since the release of "Inataraxia" in 1999, Nanochrist have joined the ranks of d-conztrakt, a global coalition of industrial musicians who remix each other's material for release on the web. Also, Nanochrist have been featured on the KSM Records compilation "Fire and Ice" and on the largest indie release ever, the 9 CD "Canadian Independant Box Set" from Meathead Records.
