Celebrating the band's 20 years together, Orquesta Alto Maiz blazed across Iowa in the summer of 2006, recording as they went along. "Live on Fire" is a collection of the best of those tracks (some new, some familiar) that represent the best of these performances, highlighting the intensity, energy and joy of playing this music. Tracks were recorded in Cedar Falls, Dubuque, Iowa City, Waterloo (among others) and were recorded and mixed by OAM sound man, Tom Barry. New compositions on the CD come from keyboardist Bob Washut, as well as Rebeca Mauleon, Victor Mendoza, Dizzy Gillespie and others. This CD (the first with new material in 4 years) captures the energy and excitement of an Orquesta Alto Maiz performance, and the long-time dance between the musicians, the music and the audience - Live, on Fire!
