NativSun is an "eclectic rock" band that combines many musical influences, styles, and moods to create a unique, fresh sound.

NativSun officially formed in Rochester, NY during the winter of 1996. The roots of the band were born back in 1988 as a weekly jam session in Bill's garage that Stewart dubbed "Friday night bowling league". During these sessions it quickly became clear that the nucleus of the jams was the synergy between Stewart and Bill. From that nucleus, several iterations of a band have emerged always with Bill and Stewart at the core.

Stewart Love (guitar and vocal) brings a rock and blues style, with influences from a very broad range of performers and music categories, to his song writing and performance. His music is very personal and reflects his view of life. His guitar leads and vocal sound are dark and haunting. The lyrics of his songs weave the tale of a journey that he continues to be on. In his hands the guitar, which he loves for its sound and physical beauty, becomes an extension of his mind, heart and soul. Stewart's experience in the "music business" and his incredible ear enable him to mix the various sounds of NativSun into an appealing aural experience both live and in recordings. In addition to his work in NativSun, Stewart has performed on studio recordings with several musicians in the Rochester area and has performed solo at private functions.

Bill Mueller (guitar, bass, mandolin and vocal) has a musical style that is influenced by folk and country-rock. His repertoire consists of tunes by many prolific singer songwriters including Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Jim Croce and John Prine. His original tunes reflect these artists style yet it is hard to pigeon hole his music as it also has jazz and world beat influences. Bill has a wide range of instrumental skills and is equally comfortable playing finger picked guitar, lap steel guitar, mandolin and fretless bass. His technical background enables him to capture and refine the sounds that NativSun creates in the recording studio. In between his work with NativSun, Bill has been the bass guitar player for Spirit Song (a local gospel group) and has filled the bass chair in the pit orchestra for Burger Middle School's student musicals for the past seven years. Bill enjoys teaching guitar and has several students at any given time.

Gary LaCourse (drums and percussion) joined NativSun in 2003, after becoming interested in their unique musical style, roots and vast experience. With over 35 years as a commercial artist and designer, Gary was looking for a new canvas to express his years of musical aptitude. As an early drummer, Gary played music with various hometown bands, played small venues and laid down some tracks on Joy Goodnow's debut album in 1974. He also mentored under Thomas Dishaw of United Sound Productions. He has been studying drums and percussion with Bill Eberts (Meddling Kids) since January 2003.

Al Laurey (guitar) is the most recent addition to NativSun and hails from Utica, NY, the birthplace of Smokin' Joe Bonamassa and Utica Club beer. Al spent thirteen years in Syracuse before moving to Rochester in the mid 80's. He has known the other members of NativSun for several years and has had the opportunity to jam with them numerous times. Until recently, Al has been a member of mesh factor, a local rock band playing predominately original music. Al's musical taste is rooted in the blues and admires guitarists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy and Eric Clapton.

The band can be heard playing on two tracks contained on Rockabilly artist Jerry Engler's recent album. NativSun's original music has been used on a demo CD for Eastman Kodak Company. The band released their EP "NativSun" in 2001 and released their first full length CD "Grace Within the House of the Sun" in March 2005.
