Details:
At the age of three, NaTosha remembers singing in front of the congregation at church. "My parents signed me up for the church choir at age three". From a family of five siblings, NaTosha remembers family singing time. They would gather around the piano and pretend to be the Winans, the Hawkins, and the Clark sisters. Before she started grade school her mother would play old Mahalia Jackson albums. NaTosha can remember singing along with her. In the first grade she receive piano lesson. She was later selected to be part of the Philadelphia School district Chorus at the age of eight. In junior high, she began a gospel quartet called Shades of Ebony. They performed in many local places as well as showcases. During that period, she also attended Cheyney University Arts program and Settlement Music School for piano and voice. In high school, she was the student choral director. This position leads to an academic scholarship for the national Choral Award, given to one graduate. During college, NaTosha performed throughout the Philadelphia region at such place as the 5-Spot, Ms Tootsie, A Brave New World, Warm Daddy's, and Bluezettes. NaTosha was a featured artist on Philadelphia's radio station Power99 Inner City. Natosha also sang at New York's VillageUnderGround and later met with Ron Grant of Sony Records. Now at the age of 24 NaTosha continues to sing, as well as write and perform songs on life's elements. She feels she has experienced the joys and pains of life. "My music is an offspring of me. I hope that listeners will experience everlasting emotion through my voice and music".
