Yankey Boy: Bio

Yankey Boy (6 to 1) was born Kevon Heath on, January 10th, 1981, in the beautiful island of Trinidad & Tobago. He was raised in the ghettos of East Trinidad from Pinto Road Arima & Get Well Avenue. Elevating his self from the ghetto was always his life dream. Growing up he adopted a personal slogan that described his self and used it as a motivation to live his life, a slogan he still believes in today that he is âtoo positive to be doubtful, Too Optimistic to be fearful and too determined to be defeatedâ. Yankey Boy started playing steel pan music in 1995 with Arima Senior Comprehensive School steel Orchestra where he excelled to become a 3 time junior steel band music festival winner performing at different forms of world music.Yankey Boy also received a scholarship for reading and writing music at Trinidad University of the West Indies.
Yankey Boy Then migrated to the Brooklyn NY his new home he has ha vision set on the goal and that is to become the best singer/songwriter that his culture has to offer. It was about 3 years ago in 2005 he decided that writing lyrics and performing them was a talent he always had in him that he wanted to put on paper, since beginning to write music
Yankey Boy has done numerous recordings with studio 53 and Premiere Studio working along side artist like Khari Kill, Zeblun, I-Sasha, Jah Bami, Mr.King, and Mr.Slaughter whom are well known studios and artist in the island of Trinidad whom are no stranger to stardom. Yankey boy now records form him own studio a studio he developed as a studio 6 to 1 basted in his hometown area of Brooklyn, NY where he works alongside artist like Khari Kill.
Yankey Boy got his name from the ghettos of Trinidad where ones he migrated to the U.S.A. His trips back home where all began and upbringing of the once ghetto he used to call home. Yankey boy is a man that has a sense of humor, a sense of style and is willing to surpass all struggles and obstacles that stands in his way on the road to perfection. He is soon going to be a force to be reckoned with. Believing that there is nothing or no one that can stop him from achieving what he wants, he is willing to work harder then hard and dedicate more time then time it self has to offer in achieving the one thing that the bad mind and negative aspects to life donât want to see him achieve and that is success.
Yankey Boy is destined to excel over all negativity and aim to the best in what he does; Yankey Boy through his music is on a conclusive search and quest in find the cure to bad mind.
