WillowStar was born and raised in NYC. From the day she could speak, she was singing. She always loved music, especially percussion, and was a gymnast and a dancer. As life took its turns, she moved away from music and into other interests, athletics, romance, college and then business. Realizing that business was an interest, but corporate culture was not, she tripped across the country for the first time, and became a River Rat, guiding raft trips in California, Costa Rica, and the Grand Canyon of the Colorado. She started singing again down there in the land of 10,000 cathedrals, and got back on a guitar. Her quest for healing led her back to school for Massage, and then to Jackson Hole, WY where she set up camp and became a local professional for yoga and massage. During the next couple of years, she started writing songs. âThey just came out of nowhere, seemingly, and I wrote them down feverishly as they arrived. The words that came to me helped me learn about the experiences I was going through in my life.â Knowing only a little about singing and less about guitar, she took the next several years to write more songs, and teach herself how to play and sing what she was hearing in her head. Finally, after much learning, practice, and growth as a musician and a person, she decided the songs were ready to be released into the world. Thus, the release of her debut CD, Making the Mantle. She lives in the Jackson Hole area with her husband and her dog and she plays for private parties and local venues. She will be doing mini-tours to visit other areas with her music soon!
