Details:
Music has always been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. I loved singing in church and couldnât wait for my choir classes to learn my Alto part for the many performances through my years in school. I started writing lyrics in high school to get that crush I had on some boy off my chest without actually telling him â the indirect way if you know what I mean. I didnât play guitar or piano or anything at the time, so I just made up the melody in my head and I can remember singing it to my friends during gym class running laps. I continued pursuing ways to enhance my musical experience in college by offering mine and my sister Tiffanyâs talents singing the national anthem for many of the collegiate sporting events at Kent State University. We had done a little national anthem singing at some high school games so we took our skills to college. Becoming known as the national anthem twins around campus â it was a fun and very challenging experience (as that is a very difficult song to sing), but through the years singing around various professional and colligate sporting events around Cleveland and Northeast Ohio was great experience and a ton of fun. I decided to start learning the guitar to go along with they lyrics and melodies I had come up with. In my early 20s I was able to assist some musical friends singing on their CDs and getting some experience working in a studio and mess around with some friends in a couple garage bands â that literally didnât get out of the garage. Through all of these years of course continuing to sing at family and friends weddings and beating up my fingers learning to play an acoustic guitar. In 1999, I had been singing at a friends wedding when a guy named Chris Rembold asked me and my friend who got married to come check out a new project he was working on with some mutual buddies. Chris was the drummer in the band and thought that we could add some background vocals to their original music. That bandâs name was Otis & The Shoreway Saints. For the next 7 years I was a member of that very band. My education of music grew in leaps and bounds. I was able to utilize the basic skills I had learned as a song-writer, guitar player and performer and enhance them further with the help of these very talented musicians. The base group when I started with these guys consisted of Craig âOtisâ Jefferys, Mark Roman, Chris Rembold and Justin Nosek. However, there were and are a number of âSaintsâ at some point through the years that I also worked with in this project. Guys like Alex MacDonald, Craig Blackiston, J. Russel, Mark âBerkleeâ Boich, & Greg Breedlove. As a part of this group, each one of these guys made me a better, player, musician, writer, singer. Each one of them will always have a very special place in my heart for all of their advice and help me get to this point. Leaving the OSS project, the thought for me was whatâs next? Try to hack this out on my own. Take the original songs that Saints had helped me perform and write and keep stummin out my own tunes. These last couple years thatâs what Iâve been doing, trying to search for my niche. Over all of these years, I had been singing on commercials, doing open mic nights and songwriters in the rounds to name a few and all the following guys helped me continue to pursue it in some way shape or form â Howard Perlmuter, John Guggenheim, Brent Kirby, Dave Baker, Mike Petrone, Randy Harper, Will Cheshier, Chris & Veronica Darby. After my time with the band was done, these guys especially continued to push me and help me get to this point. Getting out there and singing on my own. Open mic nights â (both very scary things when you are used to having 6 other guys around you). Getting this album together has been a long time coming and without any of the people I have mentioned above could this have happened. Especially with the continuing support of my tremendous family and a little faith that God had a plan somehow for meâ¦here I amâ¦sharing the pains and joys of my life to this point through my first solo CD, Frame By Frame.
