White Lightning â as much as it sounds like an 80's butt rock band, it's a name that sticks in your head - much like the tunes of this brand new modern rock band from St. Albert, Alberta

White Lightning was formed in September of 2007 when Steve Bosch, a well seasoned singer/songwriter, started jamming with Enoch Rottier, a drumming graduate from Grant MacEwan Collegeâs music program. Soon after, Steve convinced talented musician Jimmy Rushton to trade an acoustic guitar for his now epic Fender bass guitar, and the band was born. All three of the rock and rollers have been in a variety of different bands from the time they were old enough to drive themselves to a jam session. Needless to say, it did not take long before the trio realized that they were making music that needed to be shared, and went to work recording seven tracks with local sound engineers Sam Bakker and Rylan Martin. The highly anticipated EP titled âHold Onâ is set to be released in July of 2008.

Apart from being in the recording studio, White Lightning has been breaking into the Edmonton Music scene playing shows and making headlines. In the wake of their second show at the Empire Ballroom as part of Futures Fest (former winners include Social Code and Tupelo Honey); they were declared winners and took home the grand prize. âThey were really high energy. White Lightning has a very experimental sound, and is an eclectic mixture of modern rock with a Brit-rock influence. From relentless funk, to their disco and melodic power ballads, White Lightning creates music that is engaging, and is sure to rock your pants off. Their sound has been likened to Muse, Finger Eleven, Rage Against the Machine, Foo Fighters and Led Zeppelin.

As they continue to play and develop their sound, White Lightning will be on top of the Edmonton Music scene, selling out shows with epic âshirts offâ drum solos, solid 3 part harmonies, and catchy guitar riffs.
