Twelve exciting and original Jewish folk/rock songs by a Jewish musician.

12 MP3 Songs
WORLD: Judaica, ROCK: Folk Rock

Details:
"Who Am I?" is the debut Jewish music album by Rabbi Neal Katz. The CD features Neal Katz on guitar and vocals with an ensemble of 25 musicians creating an exciting sound setting for the powerful lyrics.

The twelve songs on the album are a mixture of Hebrew and English and use texts from the Bible and from Jewish liturgy. Neal collaborated with lyricist Rabbi Alan Cook on a number of the songs.

The songs have an educational component to them, teaching Jewish values while offering new musical settings for traditional Hebrew texts.

The music is a mixture of rock, folk, and klezmer and the lyrics deal with topics such as Israel, Middle East peace, leadership, and performing commandments. The album is not only great music, but it is also a great teaching tool.

Originally from Virginia Beach, VA, Neal has been involved with Jewish music for over fifteen years.

He grew up in the youth groups and summer camps of the Reform Movement and has song-led for three summers in Israel working with teen Israel trips.

Also, Neal has led music for numerous youth group conclaves and congregational services, b'nai mitzvah, Sunday School programs, and retreats around the East Coast and Midwest.

In addition to three summers as the student rabbi and song-leader at Camp Ben Frankel in Carbondale, IL, Neal song-led for a Progressive Jewish Summer camp in the Former Soviet Union in the summer of 1999.
