Cincinnati's own, Nelson K, is one of the newest up and coming Rhythm & Blues artists. He delivers a sound that a wide range of age groups will enjoy. Like many other of our R&B singers, Nelson's vocal roots can be traced back to the church where he sang as a young child.
Following high school he served four years in the United States Marines, and while there, he sang with other young men who share a love for music and the harmonic sounds. After completing his military tour, he was able to dedicate more time to the pursuit of his dream of becoming an R&B artist.
Nelson has performed with Motown artists Soultry and Electra Records artist Meliek Britt. In the Cincinnati area, he has performed at Final Fridays, One Eyed Jacks, The Mondiale Club, Shakers in Town, and Parktown Café.
Some of Nelson's greatest inspiration comes from Stevie Wonder, Freddie Jackson, Boyz II Men, Brian McKnight and Big Bub.
His smooth seductive style, combined with a blend of rap, creates a unique interlude since Teddy Pendergrass told women to Close The Door and Turn Off The Lights.
