Bio's
Kamren-Po
Kamren-Po, a.k.a. Chopper Da Man was raised in small town known as Hannibal, Missouri. Both parents being never married and separated since infancy, he spent much of his childhood jumping back and forth from Quincy (a larger town of 80,000 in Ill) to Hannibal. Born a product of a low income single parent home, Chopps learned the value of all things, including life at a very early age. From his earliest memories of rock bands from Pearl Jam, to R&B soul's Anita Baker, and Freddie Jackson, he always loved music. The first record that really influenced him to begin crafting his art was the Notorious B.I.G's, Big Poppa. After hearing that record, Kam Po really began playing with the art of freestyling. Being a naturally artistic person, it was a short time before people started to take notice of his skill. After becoming a local freestyle legend in the parks and on the streets of his two home towns, he made a move to Columbia, Missouri with his older sister. With his mother recently taking notice of his constant blood shot eyes and the knot of money in his pocket, she sent him to Columbia with the promise that he would not do what every other teenage black man was doing to get by. His mother wanted him to use the head that God put on his shoulders to make a better way for himself and make her proud. After a few months in Columbia, and a few emcee's verbally slain, Chopps met with a local producer, who he instantly clicked with and began to make music. In December of 1997, he completed his first two studio recorded tracks. A year later around late 1998, early 1999, he met a young emcee named Young Blaze. He quickly took notice of his skill and a few months later off a pure chance encounter in a department store, they started N.E.W.E.R.A. with a single hand shake. After a few years of ups and downs, they completed an 8 track E.P. called Hooks & Bars in early 2003. Since the start of their journey together, Kamren and Blaze have since formed chemistry unparallel on the mic and knowledge of the business that will make them a formidable duo on any level of the music scene.
Young Blaze
Young Blaze was raised on the south-side of St. Louis, Missouri, in the Peabody Housing Project. His music interest started as early as elementary school, where he first started playing musical instruments. At home, Blaze was first introduced to music by his Grandmother and Mother. He went on to develop a relationship with such music genres as Blues, R&B, Hip-Hop and Popular music. He had other talents and hobbies that took place of idle time such as drawing and playing sports, but music always kept an attachment to his soul. It wasn't until the age of eleven, where he started to actually take his musical talent and begin to mold it in hopes of eventually perfecting it. Young Blaze had already been writing lyrics for the past three years, but now he began to write songs. On his twelfth birthday, he received a keyboard, a two tape deck stereo, and a microphone. He began to teach himself to re-create tracks from tapes he bought, and then rerecord his songs over the tracks. Blaze was inspired by such Hip-Hop greats as 2pac, N.W.A., RUN DMC, Jay-Z, Nas, and many more. It wasn't until 1997, where he first got his chance to record in a studio. There he realized that his love for music was much greater than he ever imagined. He went on to attend Lincoln University and began to publicly expose his skills every chance he had. He went to everything from the local lyricist lounge, talent shows, to even freestyle sessions on the campus parking lot. After gaining acceptance from his peers, being featured on the hottest track on campus, and bringing crowds to their feet while spitting, he knew this was where his heart was. In the midst of 1998, he met up with Chopps. Living in Columbia, Missouri, at the time; the two traded hopes and dreams of becoming Hip-Hop Icons! With a handshake, the two decided to form the dynamic duo now known as N.E.W.E.R.A.
