No matter who you consider yourself to be: a genuine underground rock star, an artist, a critic, or just a fan of music... we all can appreciate a good song. Music trends come and go, and there will always be a new image or sound that will be exploited by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), but who can blame them ... this is a business. However, every now and then, a certain group of individuals will write a song that is not only meaningful today, but will continue to be relevant for years to come. NOCODE, (pronounced 'No Code'), a four-piece modern rock outfit from New York City, (or New Jersey, depending on who you talk to in the band) blends an intense passion for profound song crafting with the intensity and refinement of today's post-modern rock scene.
While currently applying the finishing touches to their second full length LP, NOCODE has been gathering a fanatical following within the NYC / NJ club scene the old fashioned way. Through constant gigging and promotion, NOCODE has quickly been making a name for themselves not only among their fans but also among fellow musicians. Thematically, NOCODE's music is so diverse that it covers typical rock n' roll staples such as the dangers of excess and the corruption of the soul that follows (as heard on the song 'Rewind') all the way to sarcastic anti-war statements (as heard on the song 'No Peace').
Sonically, to sum up the band with one phrase: "These guys rock !" NOCODE's intense and refined sound has been described as hearing Velvet Revolver getting together with Chris Cornell (Audioslave / Soundgarden) at an after hours jam session. The entire album is a testament to the awesome power of music, and it's ability to take you to a place that can only be dreamed of, rather than leaving you with an empty and disappointed feeling after listening to one good, radio friendly single and about eight other filler tracks. From beginning to end, the songs on NOCODE's self-titled debut LP are memorable, and the vibe is both contagious and inspiring. So turn it up and play it loud...your neighbors will love it.
