Breakfast meets motorcycles.
6 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, POP: British Pop
Details:
Nordic formed in Portland, Oregon in September of 2001 when writer and designer Elizabeth Dye answered a "vocalist wanted" ad placed in a local newspaper. The band began playing out in early 2002, developing the layered sound they're known for. Overlapping organ and synth melodies, along with heavily shaped guitar and vocal harmonies, combined to produce a pensive pop sound that has been described as "lush, yet icy."
Nordic recorded a three-song demo in the summer of 2002, produced by Ian Parks (The Rosemarys, The Magnetic, An American Starlet). The track Honeyblind was included in the Reverb Records' Shoegazer Bliss compilation CD, released in December 2002. After a successful California tour last fall, Nordic updated its bass and drums talent, bringing in Joe Ballman and Luke Strahota. In September 2003, Nordic ventured into the studio to record the 6-song transatlantic ep, produced by Jeramy Koepping of Seattle band Voyager One. The EP will be released on Friday, April 9th, 2004.
