IDEOLOGY:

NO SUCH FATE derives their name from the simple idea that life is what we make it; that things are not meant to be; that we are not powerless to a predestined spiritual plan; but rather, things happen in life as a result of the choices that we make, what we choose to see, and the doors that we choose to walk through. In this, their self-titled debut CD, No Such Fate expresses this idea with conviction and clarity. Punctuated by powerful male and female vocal performances, roots inspired guitar and classically trained piano, the music and lyrics combine to bring the meaning of each song home to the listener through clear and honest expression.

BIOGRAPHY: Studio Musicians

Kevin Patric - (Lead Vocalist, Guitar, Keyboards, Bass, Percussion)
Kevin started his music career on the piano at the age of three. Inspired by some of the great masters, Kevin took a heavy interest in classical music almost immediately and began performing and competing on a regular basis. Although the majority of his attention would be dedicated to classical music, Kevin developed a tremendous love of R&B, gospel and funk. After almost 15 years and hundreds of performances, Kevin left the classical world behind in pursuit of other musical interests. He moved to Columbus, Ohio where he met several musicians and songwriters. His love of funk mixed with the quick precision developed by years of classical piano training made for a unique playing style, making him one of the more sought after funk keyboard players in the area as well as quickly earning the respect of Columbus' seasoned veteran musicians. Kevin spent the next several years performing in popular rock and funk groups as well as leaving his mark on a variety of studio recordings. In January of 2000, Kevin decided to focus his attention on songwriting and starting a group that would sustain him throughout the rest of his career. Three years later, the result is the self-titled debut CD from the group No Such Fate.

Deanna " DJ " Sweeney - (Lead Vocalist, Guitar)
Deanna spent the majority of her childhood surrounded by a family of musicians. Her Father, Grandfather and two older brothers exposed her to their own original compositions as well as many of the great artists that inspired them. With so much focus on music, it didn't take Deanna long to discover legendary female vocalists such as Etta James, Billie Holiday and Aretha Franklin. Deanna quickly developed a love for blues and jazz and took every opportunity she could to perform. She worked in local clubs and as her popularity increased, so did her desire to write and perform her own music. Following one of her performances, a devoted fan that recognized her talent, approached Deanna and offered to part with his vintage 1961 Martin acoustic guitar. Deanna immediately began composing and performing her own music. Never wanting to be stereotyped as a folk singer, Deanna performed with pure aggression and emotion, writing music and lyrics with an edge that challenged the typical female "singer-songwriter" role. Performances would often end with broken guitar strings and adoring fans. Deanna and Kevin Patric met during a recording session and has since been co-writing and performing with NO SUCH FATE.
