Details:
No Alternative is a pop/punk/rock band from suburban Detroit. Formed in 1996 and formerly known as "The Milkmen" they have played at a variety of venues in the metro area and regionally. Some of their most notable live performances include the legendary CBGBs in NYC, NEMO 2002 in Boston, MOBfest 2K2 in Chicago, The Annual Detroit Punkfest and a spot on the Ernie Ball stage of the 2000 Vans Warped Tour. As part of the Warped Tour, they were entered into a contest based on the online voting of fans who attended. Out of the 300+ bands entered, No Alternative finished in the top 20. They were invited back for the 2002 Warped Tour's final show in Detroit.
They have been featured in The Detroit News, Real Detroit, Rollor Magazine and others. In 2001, No Alternative released their debut CD "Now or Never" on Static Records. Recorded at White Room studio (Kid Rock "Devil Without A Cause", etc.) and produced by John Smerek, "Now or Never" is the result of more than 5 years of songwriting. The CD received airplay on several local radio stations including Detroit/Windsor commercial station 89X CIMX FM. MTV's "Road Rules" selected a song from the CD to play on the show. The band recently received a nomination for "Best Alternative Act" in the 2003 Detroit Music Awards.

Reviews:
"No Alternative has a pop-punk aesthetic with a deep down spirit"-Erik Kluiber, The Michigander
"Finally! angst that one doesn't get tired of hearing." -Omar Perez, alternative.com
"It's that real pop sense to their punk, plus sharp playing, that makes them good."- Jack Rabid, The Big Takeover
"This CD features pop punk (ala Green Day) which is at times playful, others furious. There's even a pinch of Ramones to be heard here. A fine album from a band I'd never really heard before."- Paul Hahn, Voxpop Webzine
"Punk power-pop from No Alternative launches this CD with vigor, enthusiasm and musicianship that should come with every successful indie rock group. 'Reflection" and "Tonight" resound with anthemic power that still exists after repeated listening."- Tom Schulte, Skratch Magazine.
"No Alternative plays a pretty standard version of punk-pop. The CD is mannered and modestly catchy."-Matt Parks, Caustic Truths
"A pleasant radio-friendly romp through every high-school seniors' dreams, 11 high energy tunes. This album is a great start for a talented group."-Dug, Scratch Magazine
"No Alternative is a punk band in the tradition of Green Day, 11 tracks of powerpop suitable as a soundtrack to your favorite extreme sport."-Mitch Phillips, Michiganbands.com
