Her interests include world music, particularly vocal techniques from diverse cultures. Her repertoire includes jazz, opera, blues, and gospel. Her jazz influences include Nancy Wilson, Lena Horne, Diane Reeves, and Ella Fitzgerald. She has had the privilege of performing in her home town with jazz greats Clark Terry, John Faddis, and Bill Waltrous.

Paul Rigmaiden, the composer and guitarist on this outing, has been playing the guitar for most of his life. Wes Montgomery, McCoy Tyner, Thelonius Monk, Gilberto Gil, Jimi Hendrix, and a host of other great composers and musicians are his musical influences.
