âHonesty.â Thatâs what indie artist Tim Glenn says he wants his music to be known for. âItâs a promise I made to God when I was only 16âthat I would only do music for Him and that my songs would speak honestly about God, faith and my own spiritual journey.â

Timâs new project, So Human, is a collection of songs that walk the listener through that journeyâwithout skipping any steps along the way.

âThere are songs for those peak moments, when you feel like you could reach out and touch God and there are songs for those valleys where you feel like He couldn't hear you if you shouted at the top of your lungs. And believe me, Iâve done some shouting,â Tim admits. âI want my music to be a real reflection of who I am, who God is in my life and what it's like to take this journey. I think itâs important that believers know that there are others out there who have very real livesâlives that come with heartache as well as joy; peace as well as turmoil.â

Growing up in the tiny south Texas town of Three Rivers, Tim has seen his share of heartache and turmoil. His mother abandoned him and his four siblings when he was only five years old. Two years later, his father died at the young age of 30. Tim spent most of his childhood bouncing between his grandmotherâs home and his auntâs family before landing at the South Texas Childrenâs Homeâa Baptist home for abused, neglected and orphaned children.

âIt was there that I came to know Christ,â Tim says, âthrough the loving care of committed Christian adults who saw potential in a misguided, angry young boy.â

That support helped Tim go to college and pursue a career in broadcasting, where he became an award-winning television news anchor in Colorado. âIn high school, I told my friends that I was going to be a newscaster during the week and a rock star on the weekends,â Tim jokes. âI quit television in 2004 but my passion for creating music has never changed.â

Tim served four years as the lead vocalist for XP, a progressive rock band based in Colorado Springs, before branching out as a solo indie artist. His first project, New Pair of Shoes, was praised by critics. Tim now works with Compassion International, a holistic child development ministry that serves over 1 million children in developing countries.

âIâve come full circle,â Tim says, âI went from being a child in need to helping children in need. I went from telling people all the terrible news that happens in the world to working with an organization thatâs doing something about it. This is exactly where God wants me to be.â

Tim and his wife Jennifer have been married for 14 years. They have one son, Morgan and are currently expecting another baby. They live in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
