Details:
First of all, before we get into any of the other details, there's something you need to know. It's loud.
No , you don't get it, It's not loud like, TV up too much loud. Not get into the car, somebody left the radio on loud. Oh no. It's L-O-U-D.
Good Christ, Budda and/or Allah LOUD.
Ears ringing with earplugs loud.
So, back up aways. Toward the door. Push the plugs in some more. It's still loud.
But it starts to come together. You hear some keyboards (almost). You start to notice form in chaos. You start to hear the bass and guitar, not always playing the same thing. You can tell the drummer was in drum corps. In a good way. And then the songs hit you. Hooky, funny, Rocking. Very Rocking. And, as strange and loud as it is, there are songs there, and they're worth getting to.
So, why is it so loud? It just doesn't make sense other wise. It is, with all the screwdrivers (yep, they're in there), rock and roll in a visceral, intelligent sense. That's why.
Who makes the noise? Three people, two of them married. Rich plays the guitar and sings, Anne plays bass and Chris plays drums.
What kind of music? Noisey, clangy, almost (but not quite) jubilant pop. Oh it's pop. I know I said it was rock, but it's not. Not completely. Not straight enough. Too much going on. And more all the time.
What have they done? Here's what they fess up to -

1997 - Polaroid Cupcake cassette
1997 - Settling the DC Score DCide Records Compilation (Worldwide
Buzz)
1998 - Paint By NUMBer cassette
1999 - Road To NUMBville full length CD
1999 - DCide: The 40 DCide Compilation (Pamela Lee)
1999 - What's Wrong With People cassette
1999 - Fonzie Christmas limited edition EP
2000 - Robot Monkey Love ( unreleased )

2001 - Songs For The Left Handed
2001 - Li'l Mars Cars
2002 - Fantastico - (to be released in the spring 2003)

Why do they do it? The circus wasn't hiring. Who are they ? Really? NUMBer. That's all you need to know. And that LOUD thing. That helps, too.
