comments: Outta d'Blues works out on a raucous blend of traditional and contemporary blues, spotlighting the dynamic and highly entertaining guitar-playing of Deny Rowand's son, Josh Rowand, a.k.a. "The Pitbull of Blues." Harp blower Hess also provides plenty of excitement and virtuosity, as Norman Lee and drummer Chris Muscarella lay down the big beats on the band's clever original material. In 2003, Outta d'Blues released its debut CD, Local Superstar, now in it's second printing, which contains only original material, including Deny Rowand's hilarious "Sensitive Man Gets Tough," "If Momma Ain't Happy" and "Deadman Blues," which reverses the typical blues lyric with the words, "I didn't wake up this morning." Rowand Sr.'s wry way with a lyric found him featured at a songwriters workshop at The Taurus in Coconut Grove, Fl and Main Street Café in Homestead, Fl. He was featured on WDNA (88.9-FM) and WLRN (93.1), playing guitar and talking about the blues. Young gun Josh Rowand penned two songs, "Born to Boogie" and "Pit Bull Boogie" a good time swing tune.
