Since his younger age, Richard (otherwise known as Ozny) had a great natural interest in music. It was in his ninth year of age that he started to receive piano lessons with classical formation. At first, Richard was not too thrilled about taking lessons on anything, especially classical music.

However, he still managed to receive Superior ratings from the Royal Schools of Music. At age 13, he started to compose songs, words & music, in a semi-classical and Alternative Rock style. His desire for creativity led him to compose music that would start catching the attention of his peers. Somewhere along the line, technology began to take hold of his life.

He began programming and learning a whole lot about phones and the UNIX operating system. This became everything to him until someday, at 15 years old, he was introduced to the world of MIDI and electronic instruments. Since this time, he spends nearly every waking moment in his studio working on his craft. When listening to his first release Optical, it is hard to tell what his style really is. Is it Drum n Bass? Ambient? IDM? All we know is that it is something we haven't heard before, but want to hear more of. "I do not think I have found my style yet. Matter of fact, I do not think that I want to. I just do what I do..." This may be the case, but anyone who has heard Ozny at work knows that although he is not to be categorized, he definitely has a style of his own.

Today, at 19, he is ready to break out of his shell possessing a huge archive about 300 compositions strong in material. This doesn't even include his collection of rock and classical music written before his discovery of electronic music.
