Details:
Unreasonable is the dynamic new release from Canadian songwriter / spoken word / performance artist evalyn parry, produced by renowned roots music producer Ken Whiteley. Politics, poetry, humour and insight are combined in equal measure on this unique album, with a host of Canada's finest musicians backing evalyn's powerful songs.

"Unreasonable" includes the 2003 Colleen Peterson Songwriting Award-winning song, The Stone and the Bumblebee.

"...what lingers after UNREASONABLE stops spinning is the witty delivery of her politics....UNREASONABLE showcases Parry's intelligent and layered lyrics....a modern day Joni for the young political..." Xtra Magazine

"Melding honesty, conviction and street-smart coolness...Parry's theatrical approach to songwriting and her clear vocals are a joy to listen to!" CBC Radio

"it's Parry's unique way of examining the collective emotions of the world with such a charmingly dry wit that makes her stand out, and makes her bitterness so pleasing to the palate, and easy to digest..." Between the Lines, Michigan

Incisive, witty songwriter and performance poet evalyn parry weaves together the political, hilarious, personal, and poetic in her signature combination of music and spoken-word. Whether costumed as a life-sized, singing maxi-pad or rhyming off savvy poetic commentaries (often heard on CBC Radio), this award-winning, independent artist is making a name for herself across Canada and the USA with her bold, funny and thought-provoking performances.

Since the release of her debut album "things that should be warnings" (Ponygirl Records, 2001) evalyn was chosen as the 2001 recipient of the Beth Ferguson Award for Upcoming Songwriter (Ottawa Folk Festival). The album was chosen as a CBC Radio Disc of the Week, and has charted in the top 10 on campus and community radio stations around the country.
