LYNN PAYNTER made her Off Broadway debut in the original cast of NO FRILLS REVUE directed by Martin Charnin. She has appeared in numerous Off Broadway and regional theatres. Lynn has appeared opposite Peter Marshall in LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, as well as with folk rock legend MELANIE in her original musical, ACE OF DIAMONDS. She has headlined at New York's Eighty-Eight's and Don't Tell Mama and has been a guest on Stan Martin's radio show. Her television appearances include the BBC's The Interrotron Series, directed by Academy Award winner Errol Morris. Lynn is currently co-starring on the Discovery Channel in KENNY THE SHARK. In addition, she can also be seen on countless television commercials, as well as voice overs, throughout the country and internationally. In the past few years, Lynn has been performing in solo theatre pieces. SMALL TOWN, written for her by Pulitzer Prize nominee Julie Gilbert, debuted at the Knitting Factory and was selected for Ensemble Studio Theatre OctoberFest.
In 1997, Lynn teamed up with Wayne Abravanel and Rick Podell (writer of the film NOTHING IN COMMON starring Tom Hanks) to create a solo piece combining monologues and songs called ALWAYS ONE WAY, which premiered in New York. In ALWAYS ONE WAY, Lynn transforms herself into a variety of characters of both sexes. BACKSTAGE said "Lynn Paynter does innovative things with song medleys, weaving stories of love both lost and found".
WVOX-AM/WRTN-FM RADIO said ALWAYS ONE WAY was "more of an environmental theatre piece than pure cabaret but it's one of those exciting original evenings you always hope you get to see."
In The Deep Romance marks Lynn's CD debut.
