Palo Duro is Spanish for "hard wood" and that was something the Spainish Conquistador Coronado and his boy's were mighty glad to see when they stumbled into the Canyon that bears the name. But, you will be glad to see Palo Duro today because it is also the name of a Western Music trio that has been spreading in popularity like the great canyon they are named after. This group is dedicated to the creation of authentic western entertainment, like you might have heard in a cow camp one hundred years ago, but manages to capture the true flaveor of modern working cowboys. Just like those old time performers, they do material written by people they know or have heard, along with things they write from personal experience and a sprinkling of the great old classic cowboy songs. The group researches the material and shares there personal history of being born and raised on a three generation farming and ranching opperation, to give the story behind the story when they perform.
Their New album titled "Cowpokes, Horses & Old Glory" has fifteen tracks on it that tell the story of the American West in song and poetry. the 2004 Disk Jockey of the year, Joe Baker says,"Palo Duro is one great Trio!
