Patrick Gibson started playing guitar twenty years ago and started writing songs not very long after that. He took only a few guitar lessons when he was fourteen, hated it, and decided to teach himself the rest (or make it up). He attended Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and majored in Music Theory, and started writing classical music in addition to rock. Since that time, it is fair to say that the two sides of his musical expression have informed, changed, and improved each other. He is sarcastic and somewhat dark, lyrically, but also a bit of a goofball. He has a clear, but somewhat scratchy voice that was trained to sing opera and then never used properly. He is a very physical guitar player on stage and takes his inspiration chiefly from Townshend, Rivers Cuomo, Clapton, and Jimmy Page. Sloppy Speed is King!
