The dynamic, talented and extraordinarily gifted Phillip Carter is a native of Fort Washington, Maryland and has released his latest gospel project "The Journey Continues." However, Phillip is no stranger to perfection and his current project is produced with the mark of excellence throughout with a rich qualitative distinction. Yes, he's rapidly rising to national acclaim status as a gifted and anointed gospel recording artist. He is also a prolific songwriter, accomplished musician and superbly skilled producer. Phillip possesses a vast reservoir of musical techniques; and his profound ability to execute these techniques is magnificently extraordinary. Significantly, Phillip's music has an exceptional abundance of inspiration with a quality of rhythmic directness that is absolutely profound. His performances are always of stellar quality. The sheer depth and intensity Phillip brings to the stage inspire his audiences with a uniqueness that is genuine and uncompromising.

Phillip's educational background exemplifies his steadfast commitment to the excellence of music. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Bowie State University. Phillip's contribution to the music profession afforded him an opportunity to serve as a music and choral teacher at schools in Washington, D.C. and surrounding venues for six (6) years before pursuing his full-time calling to the ministry of music.

He is the Minister of Music for First Baptist Church of North Brentwood, North Brentwood Maryland and Breath of Life Ministries. He is also the Youth Music Coordinator for Pastor Deron Cloud's ministry "The Soul Factory." Phillip also diligently works with "Chosen," a group of hand-picked young people who serves musically in hospitals, nursing homes and churches. His message to young people embarking on a career in music or ministry is "to trust in the Lord, be anointed and become a master at your craft." You can also find Phillip at the Washington Performing Arts Society where he holds the position of Artistic Facilitator for Gospel Programming.

Phillip is married to the very lovely, dedicated and wonderful Stephanie.

Phillip's list of credits is quite impressive; and one needs only to take a quick glance to understand such quality. The astounding highlights of his innovative music career are: the Gospel Music Workshop of America's Men's and Mass Choirs and he is an active member of the Gospel Announcers Guild. He has delivered stellar performances with some of the world's greatest, incredibly acclaimed and celebrated gospel artists, namely Karen Clark Sheard, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Albertina Walker, Edwin and Walter Hawkins, Jennifer Holliday and Tramaine Hawkins.

Phillip's rewarding recording career with Sounds of Victory (S.O.V.) began in 1997. The group's debut release was "Bridging The Gap." Subsequently, with God's blessings and favor, Phillip Carter and S.O.V. released two more recordings "Bridging The Gap II" and "Confession." After the success of "Confession," God blessed them to release their latest release "The Journey Continues." Yes, the journey continues with the contemporary sounds of "Let's Go To Church," and the unfailing guidance of "Wherever He Leads," and, of course, the journey cannot be made unless you "Have Faith."
